MQM Houston Unit Apprises the
Houston City Mayor Bill White and Councilman M. J. Khan on Relief Efforts at
Camp Altaf Hussain.

The MQM Houston Unit met again with the Houston
City Mayor Bill White and Councilman M. J. Khan and briefed them in detail about the activities of MQM
Unit during the past week. The unit in-charge Muhammad Zaheer informed the mayor that
the MQM-Houston Unit
has provided approximately $10,000 worth of goods, school supplies, groceries,
medicines, blankets and water to the 25 families in Catalina Apartments situated
on Bissonett street. Unit in-charge further added that along with the above
mentioned relief goods,
the Houston Unit has been providing thousands of dollars worth of accommodation,
food and medicines to the affected families on daily basis. MQM Unit has provided a Computer and a television set to the residents
as well. The MQM workers are continuing helping the dislocated families with
their needs and requirements. On Monday, two more families have been provided
with the shelter in one of the apartment complex, near Beltway-8 and Bissonnet.
In reply to a question by a local media regarding the fund raising, Unit
in-charge informed that he has requested all the donors to deposit their
contributions directly to Mayor’s Relief Funds or to MQM’s Khidmat-e-Khalq
Committee.
At the end, Mayor White thanks all the MQM supporters, workers and volunteers for
work well done and requested continued support towards the relief efforts.
