MQM USA Protest at UNO- NY Feb 19, 2017

MQM desires a system of justice and to empowerment for 98% of masses. MQM USA held a massive peaceful demonstration outside United Nations to record its protest.

Muhajir nations and its true representatives are being unjustly oppressed by the State of Pakistan. For Pakistan to maintain its sovereignty, it is important that everyone, including muhajirs attains equal justice.

MQM seeks equal treatment amongst the Pakistani political spectrum; and believes that religious extremism and sectarianism are poisonous for national sovereignty. MQM will continue its struggle for equality and justice for the deprived.

MQM Founder and Leader, Mr. Altaf Hussain is the only resolute voice against Al-Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, along with other terrorist organizations and their abettors. Regrettably, his voice has been silenced in Pakistan by the state. Most of Pakistan’s political media are biased or merely silent spectators due to the pressure faced by LEAs.

Won’t back down from our struggle for due rights. Along with United Nations, we will continue to raise the case of Muhajir nation in all global human rights forums.

The demonstration was led by members of Central Organizing Committee, and attended by members of New York Chapters, Communication and Media Cell, Youth Wing, along with people from various walks of life who gathered from all over United States to record their protest.

The participants heavily chanted slogans against injustices on Muhajir Nation, Extra Judicial Killings, Human rights Violations, Enforced Disappearances, as well as condemned the biased actions of Law Enforcement Agencies. On this occasion a petition was presented on United Nations, furthermore same will follow with all Int’l Human Rights organizations.

 

Communication and Media Cell (New York City, NY) – Feb. 19th 2017; Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) desires a system of justice and empowerment for the 98% masses and wish to seeks to betterment in present system of oppression and deprivation in Pakistan. Muhajir nations and its true representatives are being unjustly oppressed by the State of Pakistan. For Pakistan to maintain its sovereignty, it is important that everyone, including muhajirs attains equal justice. On a daily basis Muhajir nation, its worker and representatives are subjected to illegal and unconditional raid and arrests, torture, enforced disappearances, and extra judicial killings. During this phase, workers of MQM and its student wing, APMSO are continuously being arrested, and become victims of enforced disappearances. Under illegal captivity they are being forced to turn their loyalties; meanwhile members of their household are being extorted for ransom to seek release of their loved ones.

Most of Pakistan’s political media are biased or merely silent spectators due to the pressure faced by LEAs. While speaking to a delegation of human rights worker, MQM USA’s office bearers went on to say that we won’t back down from our struggle for due rights; along with United Nations, we will continue to raise the case of Muhajir nation in all global human rights forums.

The demonstration was attended by members of MQM USA’s Central Organizing Committee (COC), Imran Hussain, Syed Osama Hasan, Matloob Zaidi, Mehfooz Hyderi, Anjum Arif;, Research and Development Wing Incharge, Arif Siddiqui, member Gul Mohammad; New York Chapter Incharge Ali Qulli; New Jersey Chapter Incharge Shaan Hashmi; Philadelphia Chapter Incharge, Naveed Qazi; Washington DC Chapter’s Join Incharge Shakeel Uddin, along with members of Communication and Media Cell, Ladies Wing, Youth Wing; as well as large numbers of Pakistani community members of New York area and MQM workers and supporters from all over United States from all walks of life attended the protest.

On this occasion, the participants expressed their displeasure on the progress of Karachi operation and termed is as biased and an attack on Muhajir nation, and the sole representatives of Muhajir’s MQM and Mr Altaf Hussain. The demonstrator held MQM flags, pictures of missing and deceased worker, along with placards and banners demanding for justice and rising their voices against the atrocities on Muhajir nation. Also, the participants heavily chanted slogans against injustices on Muhajir nation, Extra Judicial Killings, Human rights Violations, Enforced Disappearances, Freedom of Speech Violations against MQM’s Founder and Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain.

The attendees also demanded justices for all martyred and missing MQM workers, along with those under illegal captivity by the state, most totable, Dr. Hasan Zafar Arif, Momin Khan Momin, Amjadullah Khan, along with other workers of MQM and APMSO. The attendees, vowed to continue their struggle for justice and quality under the leadership of Mr. Altaf Hussain. The demonstration also witnessed increased media coverage, and main stream Pakistani and Local United States media covered the event, along with numerous passer-by’s taking deep interest and expressing their support against the atrocities against the Muhajir nations.
