Philadelphia Chapter Organized Successful Annual Cricket Tournament Washington DC wins the trophy

Philadelphia: May 21st, 2012 | Philadelphia Chapter of MQM USA held 11th Annual Cricket Tournament at Core Creek Park in Philadelphia on Mothers’ Day. This tournament was dedicated to late poet Talat Asharat, who passed away last year. Her husband Moin Khan and her younger brother Dawood attended the event. Patron in Chief of MQM North America Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also attended this event. The main sponsor of this event, Mohammed Wasim of V-Jewelers was honorable chief guest.

Washington DC/Virginia, Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York Chapters of MQM USA participated in the tournament. The office bearers of MQM USA including members of Advisory Committee Mehfooz Hydri, Helping Committee member Asim Ahmed, Joint Center Organizer Arshad Hussain, workers and their family members and supporters from participated chapters attended the event. The President of Pakistani American Society Anwar Khan and Chief Advisor Rana Taj were the guests of this event.

Consular of Pakistan at Philadelphia Dr. I.H.Kathio presented trophy to Faisal Usmani, the captain of the winning team of Washington D.C. The runner up trophy was presented to the Philadelphia team Captain Rizwan Malik. Dr. Kathio praised the efforts of organizing this event by MQM Philadelphia Chapter and said that it is one of the best sporting events he has witnessed in Pakistani American society. Bar B Q sponsorship was provided by Asian Halal Meat and prepared by Chapter-in-charge of Philadelphia Shakil Khan.

Philadelphia Chapter-in-charge Shakil Khan thanked all the teams participated in the tournament and especially thanked Philadelphia joint-in-charge Amar Farooqi, Mohammed Irfan, Masood, Ayub, Taqi Kamal, and New Jersey joint-in-charge Imran Siddqui who volunteered to make the event successful.
